The Team

Teams are what make up every sport, but not all sport teams work the same, so how does a baseball team work? A baseball team consists of 1 pitcher, 3 outfielders, 4 (technically 6) in-fielders and a catcher, in total, there are supposed to be 28 players on a team but only 9 will ever play at a time. Each team makes a batting line up of 9 players, and this order can not be altered after being made, the only way to "alter" this order is by having a substitution play for someone. There can be a max of 14 pitchers for one team, unless there are two-way players, which means they have met a certain criteria that allows them to pitch during any inning, these players dont count towards the total pitcher count. lastly, players are given one of two rolls, either a pitcher, or a position player, where position players can not pitch unless under very specific circumstances.
