The rules of the game

baseball has three main things people need to know, so to help you learn them, here is a table that goes over what those rules are.

The rules of baseball

Strikes/balls

Fouls

Outs

A ball is declared a strike if the batter either swings at it (up until just before passing the middle of your body) If the ball goes past either of the white lines that stretch from home base past 1st and 3rd base, then it is declared a foul. as discussed earlier, if an in-fielder has the ball and is on a base that you are going to, you are out
if the ball is in the figurative "strikezone", then it is considered a strik even if you dont swing if the ball lands inside the white lines, but rolls past, it is considered a foul If you are tagged by someone who has the ball, in the hand they tag you with, you are out
if you dont swing at the ball, and the ball is outside the strike zone, then it is considered a ball if the ball is still in the air past the white lines, and the opposing team catches it, it is declared an out despite being past the white lines If you get 3 strikes, you are out
if you get 4 balls, you get to "walk" a base, meaning you go to 1st base the ball may bounce off the wall and land inside the lines this is a fair ball if the ball is caught before it touches the ground, it is an out
if the ball is half way in the strike zone, it is a strike if the ball bounces off a pole marking the foul line and ends up bouncing into fair play, it is considered a fair ball after 3 outs, you switch sides
